HUDSON (KWWL) -- Undefeated Woodward-Granger scored twice in the second-half to come from behind and beat Hudson, 14-10, in a Class 1A District 4 match up Friday night in Hudson.
Hudson broke open a scoreless first half, with just 22-seconds left, as Pirate quarterback, Cale Henke found Aaron Oltmann in the corner of the end zone for an 11-yard touchdown.
The score came on 4th and 4 from the 11-yard line. Freshman kicker Cameron Wright kicked the extra point to give the Pirates a 7-0 lead.
The second half told a different story, as Woodward-Granger poked holes in the Hudson defense and scored two touchdowns in its 14-10 district win.
Next week, Hudson will try to get into the win column, but it doesn't get any easier. The Pirates go on the road to play undefeated Eagle Grove. The Eagles beat BCLUW, 48-0, Friday night to remain undefeated at 3-0 on the young season.
District 4 gets very interesting next Friday night, with an early-season showdown of 3-0 teams. Woodward-Granger will play host to Gladbrook-Reinbeck next Friday night in a battle of unbeaten's. Gladbrook-Reinbeck beat Ogden Friday night, 35-7, to stay undefeated.
