The Magic Bus will be back for Saturday

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -- After months of fighting and one home game without it, the Magic Bus will be back as a tailgating hotspot for this Saturday's Iowa vs. Iowa State game.

The bus will be at a new location, 747 W. Benton Street in Iowa City.

17 Candle and Uniphonics are scheduled to play this Saturday.

The future of the Magic Bus was in jeopardy after a group bought the original spot at 817 Melrose Avenue in an effort to use it as a tailgating spot called the Stadium Club.

After both groups were denied temporary use permits, the Iowa Ducks Rugby Club which operates the Magic Bus found the new location to operate.

Jeremy Feerks says the city has granted them a temporary use permit and a new corporate sponsor has stepped up to help pay some of the costs.

Kraft Macaroni and Cheese will be sponsoring the Magic Bus this season and will help pay the rent for the spot so the club can continue to donate money to charity.

Point Brewery has also joined in, replacing Miller Brewing Company as the beer sponsor.

The festivities will get underway at 10:00 am on Saturday morning.
