Riley McCarron: Athlete of the Week

Posted:

DUBUQUE (KWWL) -- It is time consuming enough to play one sport in high school.  But for junior runningback Riley McCarron, playing four sports is just a part of life.

Riley said, "Playing whatever sports in season and I just have a lot of fun doing it. Being able to compete in every sport it's just a lot of fun."

After his sophomore year at Dubuque Wahlert, McCaron has already lettered in four sports, including a state championship in track.

Wahlert Head Coach Mike Mahoney said, "He's a four sport athlete so that to us as a program means a lot because he's helping track and basketball and baseball with their season."

His football career at Wahlert really took off last season.
Playing in just six games his sophomore season, he rushed for 800 yards and was an all-conference selection.

This year, in Week One, Riley ran four touchdowns in for the Golden Eagles, helping them to their first win of the season.
