JACKSON JUNCTION (KWWL) -- Turkey Valley exacted a bit of revenge against South Winnishiek posting a 14-8 win over the Warriors Friday night.
The Trojans fell behind early however as South Winn's Matt Meyer picked of Brady Kuenen near midfield in the second quarter. The Warriors took advantage eventually taking a 6-0 lead on a 2 yard touchdown plunge from Brady Severson.
Turkey Valley took the lead for good, however, just before half. Kuenen lofted a 20 yard scoring strike to Jordan Mitchell with under a minute remaining in the second quarter. The Trojans converted a 2 point conversion for the 8-6 halftime advantage.
They would add to that in the third quarter on an 18 yard touchdown run by Jamie Hackman.
The season opening win was especially sweet for the Trojans as South Winn ended their season with a victory in the 2009 state quarterfinals.
