Study shows BPA affects hormone levels in men

Posted:

UNITED KINGDOM (KWWL) -- While BPA has been shown to affect lab animals, whether the chemical has any effect on humans has been unclear, until now.

Bisphenol-A, or BPA is a chemical used in many plastic products, especially in food and drink containers.

A study from the UK measured the amount of BPA men excreted in their urine and found that higher BPA exposure was linked to changes in the endocrine system, specifically slight increases in testosterone.

Although this study shows a link, much more research needs to be done.
