Moisture-meters available for flooded homeowners

JONES COUNTY (KWWL)-- The Iowa State University Extension office is offering tips for homes or businesses involved in recent flooding.

Officials say before you can clean-up, you must let your walls dry out completely to avoid any  mold from growing.  Flood victims should tear out dry wall or plaster to the flood line, and discard any wet insulation.

You can use moisture-meters to determine the moisture-content of wood framing.

The Jones County Extension office has meters available for homeowners and businesses that can be used for testing.
