Loebsack touting proposed economic legislation

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL)--- Congressman Dave Loebsack is touring the second district to discuss legislation he says will save and grow businesses, and support career improvement for workers.  Middle skill jobs, which require more than high school, but less than a four-year degree, make up the largest part of America's workforce.  Despite the current economic downturn, some industries struggle to find workers to fill in the gaps. These industries include manufacturing, information technology, and healthcare industries.

"To get our country moving again, we must work to reinvigorate our manufacturing base, putting Iowans back to work, and paving the way for the industries of tomorrow," Loebsack said.

Loebsack's bill, the "Strengthening Employment Clusters to Organize Regional Success Act," establishes a workforce development system to promote long-term growth by expanding industries, creating and saving jobs.
