UPDATE: Deadly crash closes I-80 for hours

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- Authorities release more information about a deadly crash closed Interstate 80 for hours Saturday afternoon.

The Iowa State Patrol believes 19-year-old, Do Taw, fell asleep at the wheel of a minivan Saturday morning.

The van hit a semi and crossed the median, hitting a car head-on.

The driver of that car, 41-year-old Kenneth Payetta of Ontario, was killed, as well as a 14-year-old passenger, whose name has not been released.

An 18-year-old from Albany, New York, a 20-year-old from Utica, New York and a 19-year-old from Pittsburgh were also killed.

A 6-year-old was also killed, and a 14-year-old is listed in critical condition.

Taw was also injured.
