Possible meth lab found near Williamsburg

WILLIAMSBURG (KWWL) -- The Iowa County Sheriff's Office uncovered what they believe to be a mobile meth lab near Williamsburg Wednesday morning.

After coming in contact with three people in a Toyota Camry outside the Kum & Go convenience store off of I-80 near Williamsburg, the deputy determined there was a possible meth lab inside the car.

During the investigation, the deputy arrested Silas Gentz, 30, of Cedar Rapids.  He is charged with Interference with Official Acts.  He pleaded guilty to that charge Wednesday morning and was released pending further charges.

The other two people in the car were not arrested.

The suspected meth making materials that were found in the car will be sent to the DCI Lab in Ankeny for further analysis.

The convenience store was closed for a short time because the car was parked close to the store.

The investigation continues and further charges and arrests are possible.
