High school wrestling coach accused of driving drunk

IOWA CITY (KWWL) - KWWL's coverage partner, The Iowa City Press-Citizen, reported that an Iowa City High wrestling coach is accused of drinking and driving.

The newspaper reported that Brad Smith was charged with drunken driving and driving the wrong way down a one-way street back on July 2nd in Coralville.

Smith has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

According to his biography on the City High wrestling web site, Smith has been the head wrestling coach at City High for the last 19 years. During that time, he has had five state champion teams, including the first wrestling title in school history in 1992.

According to online court records, he is scheduled to go on trial on the charges on Oct. 4.
