Study says I-JOBS created 7,000 jobs

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- A new study shows the state's I-JOBS stimulus plan has created more than 7,000 jobs.

The Iowa Department of Management's study shows the state's spent more than 705 million dollars through the program on 1,700 projects.

Governor Chet Culver says the number of jobs could reach 23,000 in the next two years, but his opponent this fall -- Former Governor Terry Branstad -- says the jobs are short term and not the sustainable jobs Iowans want.
