WATERLOO (KWWL) -- Event organizers in Waterloo say they are extremely busy putting the finishing touches on the many events taking place on Thursday. They also say they will be ready as the first riders make their way into town.
The main activities will be taking place near the Lost Island Water Park south of Waterloo. That's where most of the riders will be spending the night. There is also a quiet campground close by at Hawkeye Community College.
Organizers also want to emphasize the events going on around the city including downtown in Lincoln Park.
They will have an extensive shuttle system to take people around and those not associated with RAGBRAI® and still want to take part in the fun are asked to park at Crossroads Mall and take the shuttle to the campground.
"It's well advertised and we'll get them downtown, we'll get them to the Crossroads Mall, and we'll get them back safely," said event organizer and former Waterloo Mayor Tim Hurley.
The main stage near Lost Island will be brought in from Charles City Thursday morning and it will be one of the final things to be assembled.
