Vinton wine contest, tasting

VINTON (KWWL)---The 3nd annual Eastern Iowa Amateur Wine Competition received 100 wine entries for Thursday's competition, easily making it the second largest contest of its kind in Iowa.  A panel of highly skilled wine judges evaluated the wine throughout the morning and afternoon.  Afterwards the wines were moved to the Benton County Fairgrounds for public tasting.

After the official judging, visitors (21 years or older) are allowed to taste and vote for their favorite "People's Choice" Award. Free public wine tasting begins at 6:30pm Thursday.

"If last year is any indication, this crowd will be bigger than ever", says Brad Johnson, event organizer.
