WATERLOO (KWWL) --Waterloo Police say a bomb found by workers from Active Thermal Concepts at the former Chamberlain Manufacturing site Wednesday afternoon is an empty shell.

Captain Tim Pillack says that a military bomb squad from Missouri looked at the bomb on Thursday and determined it was empty.

Chris Western, a planner for the City of Waterloo, says crews found it in Building 10 and moved it to the front of the building before calling police.

Western says the bomb has markings on it that say "Warhead" and "April - 1957".

Active Thermal Concepts is working on demolishing the building.
