Dubuque Police trying to find suspicious vehicle and its owner

DUBUQUE (KWWL) -- Dubuque Police are investigating a report of a man who was following a 13-year old girl in his car and then tried to approach her.

The girl tells police that at around 6:30 Tuesday evening an older model green, four-door vehicle was following her in the area of North Grandview Avenue and Bennett Street.

She says the driver parked the car in the 400 block of North Grandview Avenue and began approaching her while yelling at her.  Police say it was an apparent effort to get the girl to come to him.

The girl ran into a nearby church and told an adult who reported it to police.

The man and the car were gone when the adult walked out of the church to investigate.

The car is described as an older model, green four-door with Dubuque County/Iowa license plate, possibly with the number 2 and/or the letter "I" on the plate.

The man is described as a white male in his late 50's to early 60's, approximately 5'10", thin build, with receding gray curly hair, wearing light blue jeans and a light colored t-shirt.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Dubuque Police Department at 563-589-4415 or 563-589-4425.
