CR Workforce Development office moving

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) – Iowa Workforce Development is moving to a temporary location July 26-30, 2010 while preparing for a permanent move in August. The current location of 800 7th Street SE will close its doors for the last time on Friday, July 23. The following week IWD will offer limited services at several locations. Limited unemployment insurance claims services will be available at Kirkwood's Training and Outreach (KTOS) location at 3375 Armar Drive in Marion.

Job seeking services will not be offered during the week of July 26 -30, 2010. However, access to on-line services and the www.iowajobs.org website will be available at the following three public libraries:

· Cedar Rapids Public Library located at 2600 Edgewood Road SW. Computer access will be available to the general public Monday – Thursday 9:00 - 9:00 p.m., Friday 9:00 - 6:00 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 - 5:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m.

· Hiawatha Public Library located at 150 Willman. Computer access is available Monday – Thursday 10:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Friday/Saturday from 10:00 - 5:00 p.m.

· Marion Public Library located at 1095 6th Avenue. Computer access is available Monday – Thursday 9:30 - 9:00 p.m. and Friday/Saturday 9:30 - 5:00 p.m.

A Veteran Representative will be available at the Veteran Center on Thursday, July 29th for walk-in services. The Veteran Center is located at 1642 42nd St NE and the operating hours are 8:00 - 4:30 p.m.

All phone and data services will be transferred to the new IowaWORKS center over the weekend. A mini-call center will be established to take calls and messages during this transition week. Customers should call the IWD main line at (319) 365-9474 after noon on Monday. Staff will identify the appropriate services and route calls as needed.

All regular services will resume on Monday, August 2, 2010 at the new Lindale Mall location at 4444 First Avenue NE, Suite #436, Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52402. At the new IowaWORKS location, the additional partners moving into the center are Experience Works, HACAP Senior Employment Services, Kirkwood Community College Skills to Employment, PROMISE JOBS services and Veteran's Services.
