Cedar Rapids police chase ends at Redmond Park


CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -- A late night police chase through Cedar Rapids ended Monday when the suspect ran his car into a tree.

Police say they were trying to stop 25-year-old Christopher Ganntt on three felony warrants out of Iowa City.  That's when they say he sped off.

The chase ended shortly after 11:30 p.m. at Redmond Park when police say he crashed his car into a tree.  Ganntt was treated and released from St. Luke's Hospital for minor injuries.

He faces multiple traffic related charges including failure to yield to emergency vehicle, proof of insurance, failure to wear seat belt, failure to maintain control, failure to appear, and obedience to traffic control device.
