Older Americans living longer

Older Americans are healthier and living longer than their grandparents, according to a new report from the National Institute on Aging.

The new data show adults who reach age 65 can expect to live another 18 years -- that's four years longer than people the same age in 1960.

Researchers also found the number of older Americans with functional limitations went down seven percent over the past fifteen years.

More elderly adults are in the high income bracket now -- mostly because many are working past age 55.

However, it's not all play money. Health care costs have gone up an average six-thousand dollars since 1992.
