Lashley charges to win Waterloo Open, Black second

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- Arizona native Nathan Lashley began the final round tied for 46th, 6 strokes behind.  He ended it as the 2010 Waterloo Open Champion.

Lashley scorched Irv Warren Memorial Golf Course shooting an 11 under 61.  As one of the first golfer's off in the morning, he sat around for 6 hours to see if his overall score of -14 would hold up.  It did.

"I got hot and it was a lot of fun today," said Lashley, "Shooting 61, that was the lowest round I've ever shot in any round, let alone a tournament, so it was pretty awesome."

Finishing runner-up was Chris Black of Independence.  Black followed up his 6 under performance on Friday, with a stellar 7 under round on Sunday.

"I started off with 3 birdies on the first 3 holes and kind of cruised in from there," said Lashley, "Then on the back 9 I was able to shoot 31, had a bunch of 3's coming down the stretch, so it was a lot of fun.
