DENVER (KWWL) -- The Waterloo Columbus baseball team torched Hudson for 11 runs advancing to the substate final with an 11-2 victory.

The Sailors put up an impressive offensive display scoring 5 times in the first inning off of Pirate ace Cale Henke.  However, only one was earned due to a throwing error with 2 outs in the frame.  The loss was only Henke's second of the season.

Columbus improves to 21-15 on the season, and will meet South Winneshiek in the substate final.  The Warriors dropped Sumner-Fredricksburg 2-1 to advance to the game.
