ISU names Tank new men's golf coach

AMES (KWWL)--Des Moines native Andrew Tank was announced Wednesday as the new men's golf coach.

Tank was the captain of Minnesota's 2002 NCAA Championship team and has spent the last eight seasons as an assistant to Brad James on the Gopher's men's golf staff, including the last three as an associate head coach.

"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to lead a program that I believe in," Tank said. "It is special for me to be able to come back to Central Iowa where my playing career began. I have always followed the Cyclones and after meeting with the administration and others on campus, my belief in the program is now even stronger. My passion for Iowa State is genuine and I'm excited to work with top-caliber players that are committed to reaching their potential as members of the Cyclone golf family."

Tank's hiring is pending administrative approval as per University policy.
