Cedar Rapids Art Museum offering free admission this summer

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL)-- The Cedar Rapids Museum of Art is excited to announce it will now be offering free admission for the summer. 

As of Tuesday, July 13, the museum will be free for all visitors thanks to sponsorships from Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust and United Fire Group. This special event will last through September 19, 2010.

The Cedar Rapids Museum of Art currently has nine exhibitions currently on display, so there's  something for everyone to enjoy. The current exhibitions include:  The Sky's the Limit: Marvin Cone's Clouds, From Monet to Picasso: The Riley Collection, The Grant Wood Window: Drawings for the Veterans Memorial Stained Glass Window Commission, The American Century, Grant Wood: In Focus, Malvina Hoffman: Rodin's Last Student, Art in Roman Life, Mauricio Lasansky: Master Printmaker, Treasures from the National Collection (a National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library exhibition).

For more information about these exhibitions, click here. The museum is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, with extended hours from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday. The museum is also open noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, but closed Monday and major holidays.
