Police: ISU student was intoxicated at time of death

Posted:

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- Authorities say a 19-year-old Iowa State University student who was struck by a train in April, had been intoxicated.

The Ames Police Department says Raven Gileau's blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit at the time of her death.

Her body was found near the railroad tracks around 5:30 in the morning of April 25th.

Police say evidence suggests her death was accidental, but the case is being sent to the county attorney's office to to see if charges should be pressed.
