Speaking up for public breast feeding

APOPKA, FL (KWWL) – Dozens of moms and their children showed their support for mothers breast-feeding in public near Orlando Saturday.

The women participating are calling the protest a "nurse in".  They want to bring awareness to breast feeding and the law.

The women became concerned after a recent incident where a life-guard at an Apopka park told a mother that breast feeding her son in public was against the law.  A statement which is not true.

"For a lot of moms, it would discourage them from breast feeding… That's really why we are doing this to help make people aware breast feeding is totally legal," Protester Shawna Mitchell said.

The moms say they want an apology from the park for giving out misinformation.
