91 years for man who robbed four Iowa banks

DES MOINES (KWWL) - A 34-year-old man has been sentenced to 91 years in jail for robbing four banks across Iowa in 2009.

Jason Bowers was found guilty of robbing Story Bank in Slater, Farmers & Merchants State Bank in St. Charles, Peoples Trust & Savings Bank in Rippey, and First Trust Savings Bank in Oxford.

Bowers was sentenced to 9 years on four bank robberies and an additional mandatory 82 years for use of firearms in each of those robberies. Bowers was ordered to pay over $25,000 in restitution to the banks and a $800 special assessment to the Crime Victims Fund.
