Help recovering from a flood

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- Resources are available for eastern Iowans dealing with flooding.

"When it's your home, farm or business that's under water, it doesn't matter if the weather forecasters call it a 100-year flood or just this year's flood. Whether the damage rivals that of the floods of 2008 or 1993 is immaterial; it's devastating any way you look at it," says Jerry Miller, Iowa State University Extension Vice-President.

Flood victims are encouraged to call the Iowa Concern hotline (800-447-1985).

Resources are also available on the disaster recovery website HERE.  Or you may call the ISU Extension office in Back Hawk County 319-234-6811 for access to resources and assistance.

Resources are available on the following topics:

Preparing before a Flood

Cleaning up after a Flood

Household Clean-up

Dealing with mold

Dealing with Asbestos

Heating Systems

Finding a Contactor
