Cedar Rapids fleet division one of nation's best

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL)--- The City of Cedar Rapids fleet services division was recently recognized as one of the 100 best government fleets in North America by Government Fleet magazine. This is the second consecutive year that the fleet services division has received this award. Selection was based on levels of productivity, operational effectiveness and performance improvement. The fleet services division employs 42 people and services 950 vehicles for the city.

"We are pleased to be recognized for the second consecutive year by our peers. This is very important to us since this is still a newly-centralized division.  This award solidifies our accomplishments in operational effectiveness, which has a direct impact on our internal customers' ability to deliver services to the citizens of Cedar Rapids," said Dennis Hogan, fleet services manager for the city of Cedar Rapids.

Out of a possible 38,000 public fleets in North America, the 100 Best are identified as excellent by their peers, through site visits, other national awards and recognitions, and continuous improvements.
