WATERLOO (KWWL) -- A study out of the University of Massachusetts Medical School finds an increased risk for dementia among adults with a history of depression.
Researchers came to this conclusion after following nearly 1,000 adults for seventeen years.
Experts say changes in the brain caused by depression may be a risk factor for dementia, as well as lifestyle factors common among depressed people -- like a lack of exercise and social engagement.
