Fallen Reinback soldier honored with holiday events

REINBACK (KWWL)--- A patriotic tribute was held Sunday morning in Reinback.  Four F-16 fighter jets raced through the sky in honor of those who have served our country.

Kandie Vaughn helped organize the tribute in honor of her step-son, Specialist Travis Vaughn, who was killed in Afghanistan back in 2007.

A silent auction was also held in the soldier's honor in Reinback's Memorial Hall.  All the money raised will got to help families of wounded soldiers.  Vaughn was pleased with the turn out, and thinks her step-son would've been proud.

"I know he's just up there smiling down and my dad's up there with him. They're both just giving me a great big, huge thumbs up. I know they're way excited, and not just for them, but for the ones that are still here. For us to show our support is just huge," Vaughn said.

Vaughn was also able to get food donated for a free dinner that was served to the community in Memorial Hall Sunday evening.
