Roy Marble arrested

Posted:

CEDAR RAPIDS (AP) -- Police say former Iowa basketball star Roy Marble has been arrested for multiple traffic violations.

Marble, the Hawkeyes all-time leading scorer, was pulled over on a traffic stop early Friday in Cedar Rapids. Police charged Marble with driving while barred, no proof of insurance and using an improper license plate light.

This is just the latest scrape with the law for Marble, who played at Iowa from 1985 to 1989 and scored 2,116 points.

Marble was charged last August with marijuana possession and having an open can of beer in his car. He was also arrested for alcohol-related offenses twice in one week back in 2006.

Devyn Marble, Roy's son, has signed to play for the Hawkeyes starting next season.
