UPDATE: Dubuque Police find remains at home of missing girl

DUBUQUE (KWWL) -- Dubuque Police say that they have found what they believe to be human remains outside the home of a missing 20-month old.

The Dubuque Police Department, along with the Iowa Department of Human Services and the Dubuque County Attorney's Office, began asking for the public's help in finding the missing 20-month old girl on Thursday.

Cecilia Denise Harris, or "CC", was last seen at the beginning of June. She was wearing a white t-shirt, blue shorts and sandals.  She is 2'3' tall, weighs 25 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.  She has both ears pierced and may have a cut on the back of her head that is healing.

Authorities originally believed that she may be in the Quad Cities or Chicago area with a woman named Shamika Davis.  Davis is a 28-year old black female and is a friend of Cecilia's mother, Tamilia Shonte Harris.

The remains were found during an exterior search of Tamilia's home and were sent to the Iowa Medical Examiner's Office for processing and identification.

Harris, 32, is in jail facing charges of Neglect or Abandonment of a Dependent Person.

All of the agencies involved are concerned for Cecilia's safety due to a possible medical condition.

If you have information on Cecilia's whereabouts, or have seen her or Shamika Davis, contact your local law enforcement or the Dubuque Police Department at 563-589-7859, 563-589-4429 or 563-589-4415.
