DUBUQUE COUNTY (KWWL)

It's a very unique kind of benefit and it happens this Saturday, July 3. It's a 26-mile marathon run/walk relay and, it's military families who will benefit from the one-day event Saturday morning along the Heritage Trail system in Dubuque County.

The 2nd annual Run 4 Troops kicks off early Saturday morning at 7:00 on the Heritage Trail in Dyersville. The first leg will leave Dyersville, headed east for a final destination a few hours later at the Heritage Trail head in Dubuque.

The 26-mile route will feature six Trailhead checkpoints following the start in Dyersville. The checkpoints include the Heritage trailheads near Farley, Epworth, Graf, Budd Road, Durango and the finish four miles later south of Sageville.

Organized by the Hodge Company of Dubuque, proceeds from this 2nd annual event will help military families in the Tri-States who have loved-ones currently serving our nation.

There is still time for you to register, either as an individual or a team. Check out the Run4Troops website on the internet.
