Highway 63 crash blocks road for six hours

NEW HAMPTON (KWWL) -- A collision between a semi hauling metal and a semi hauling two grain wagons left scattered metal and corn on the road tieing up the northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 63 for six hours Tuesday.

The collision happened Tuesday morning near New Hampton. 

Traffic had to be diverted into the southbound lanes.

Michael Kruse, 45, of Dunkerton was transported by ambulance to New Hampton for head trauma.  He was treated at Mercy Medical Center and was later released.

The other man in the collision, Allen Heit, 62,  of New Hampton was not injured.
