Former Cyclones, Johnson and Brackins Taken in Frist Round of NBA Draft

Posted:

The Minnesota Timberwolves have chosen Syracuse forward Wesley Johnson with the fourth overall pick in the NBA draft. Johnson played two years at Iowa State before transferring to Syracuse. While Craig Brackins was drafted in the first round with the 21st overall pick by Oklahoma City before being traded to New Orleans.

Johnson was a first-team All-American last season for the Orange. The Wolves have said all along they desperately need dynamic wing players and Johnson seems to fit that mold with his outside shooting and rebounding abilities.

Johnson will be reunited with Syracuse alum and point guard Jonny Flynn in Minnesota.
