Sturgis Falls carnival delayed because of move

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -- Families will have to wait until Friday to enjoy everything the Sturgis Falls carnival has to offer.

The midway for the 35th annual festival was scheduled to open Thursday night at 6:00.  Unfortunately, several of the rides are not up and running yet.  Crews had to move the rides, games, and food stands from the original location in Island Park because of flooding predictions.

They're setting up at State and Second street in downtown Cedar Falls.  Carnival workers told KWWL the 6:00 p.m. start time Thursday would not happen.  However, they're confident all of the rides will be assembled and ready to go on Friday.

They said, it's an inconvenience.  But they'd rather start late than deal with flooding over the weekend.
