Flooding river forces evacuations in Dumont

BUTLER COUNTY (KWWL) -- The Butler County Emergency Management tells us rising water from the West Fork of the Cedar River has forced them to evacuate the southern half of the city of Dumont.

They have set up a shelter at the emergency services building for those displaced.

Authorities tell us they are currently sandbagging, but if the water continues to rise at this rate, they may have to ask 200 more people to leave their homes.
