Cranking up the tunes on your MP3 player could temporarily damage your hearing.
That's what researchers in Belgium concluded after studying two dozen adults.
Participants listened to MP3 players for one hour, at various volumes and with different types of headphones.
Not much of a surprise, but the people who listened to louder music had more hearing loss.
Experts say the study points to the need for more research looking at the long-term effects of recreational noise.
