Public can review Cedar Rapids flood plan

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) – The public can learn about the city's new flood risk management plan at informational meetings Wednesday.

Cedar Rapids teamed up with the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to choose a plan for flood management. The USACE conducted the Cedar River Feasibility Study and tentatively chose a plan.

The two informational meetings will be at the Crowne Plaza Five Seasons Hotel ballroom, at 350 First Avenue NE.

The morning session will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with the USACE presentation at 11:30 a.m.

The afternoon session will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with the USACE presentation at 4:30 p.m.

People may stop by anytime during the sessions to review displays, receive informational handouts and ask questions of the USACE and city representatives.
