Directors will be elected to Iowa Corn Promotion Board

JOHNSTON (KWWL) -- Iowa corn growers will be electing five directors to the Iowa Corn Promotion Board on July 13.

Six Iowa crop reporting districts will vote at the Iowa State University county extension offices.  Elections this year will take place in districts two, three, four, six, seven and nine.

The ICPB is made up of 17 Iowa corn growers who oversee the investment of funds generated by the Iowa corn check off.  Other board activities include domestic and foreign market development, research into new and value-added corn uses and education about the corn industry.

Anyone who has produced and marketed 250 bushels of corn or more in Iowa in the previous year can vote in the election. Producers unable to visit an extension office on July 13 can vote by absentee ballot. Absentee ballots are available until June 28 and must be postmarked by July 13.
