Waterloo Black Hawks open tryout camp

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- The Waterloo Black Hawks have their sights set on winning their first Clark Cup in six years, and this week they're out to find the players who can do it.

The Black Hawks opened their tryout camp this afternoon as players have flocked in from across the country to try and make the roster for the upcoming season.  Head Coach P.K. O'Handley, now entering his 9th season in waterloo, will be doing much of the evaluating, and he says this is really the week where championships are won and lost."

"Quite frankly it's the most important for our staff.  This is where we select our livelihood, and that's a hard thing when your livelihood is based on 16, 17, and 18 year old kids."

The camp concludes on Wednesday, and is open to spectators.  Waterloo will hit their preseason game schedule in September.
