UPDATE: Third suspect arrested in fatal robbery attempt


WATERLOO (KWWL) Waterloo police arrested a third suspect in connection with an attempted robbery.

Wednesday, a clerk at the E. Fourth Street Liquor store in Waterloo says he shot and killed two robbery suspects, Antonio Sproles and Robert Bolden.

Friday, police arrested a third man they say is connected to the case.

19-year-old Blake Leflore was arrested in Des Moines on an unrelated charge and was brought back to Waterloo.

According to the criminal complaint, witnesses told police that Leflore was with Robert Bolden and Antonio Sproles before the robbery and had the gun that was later recovered from Sproles.

Police say he admitted to helping plan the robbery and acted as the lookout while it was taking place.

In a separate complaint, police say that while securing the scene around East Fourth Street Liquors on Wednesday night, officer talked to two men they found a block away from the scene.  They say while identifying the men, one of them gave them the name of DeVonte Phillip with a birth date of February 16, 1993.  Police say they later determined that the man was Leflore.

Leflore is in the Black Hawk County Jail facing First Degree Robbery and Harrassment of a Public Official charges.
