Parents charged in Jackson County boy's drowning death

JACKSON COUNTY (KWWL) -- The parents of 4-year-old Collin Holdgrafer have been charged in connection with his death.

Police have arrested Andrew Holdgrafer, 31, on the charge of child endangerment resulting in the death of a child and Danielle Lynn Holdgrafer, 29, for first degree murder.

Authorities say the boy drowned in a bathtub at the Franklin Street Apartments in Andrew last Saturday. Family members say Collin lived there with his adoptive parents, the boy's aunt and biological uncle.

The Sheriff's Office says the boy's father, Andrew Holdgrafer, called 911 while taking the boy to the hospital. An ambulance met them in Maquoketa and the boy was taken to the Jackson County Regional Health Center where he was pronounced dead.
