Upper Iowa's Curran D-2 Preseason All-American

Nate Curran a senior safety for the Peacock football program, was named as a member of the Consensus Draft Services Division II Preseason All-American First Team.

Curran, a native of Cedar Falls, Iowa, is coming off a junior season having been named to the Daktronics Super Region #3 Defensive First Team and the All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference South Division First Team.

The Peacock safety led the Upper Iowa defense in tackles with 92 which included 55 solo tackles and 5 tackles for loss (22 yards). The 92 tackles tied him for 75th in the nation among defensive players at 8.18 per game. When playing against the pass, Curran led UIU with 4 interceptions which he returned for 47 yards and one touchdown. In two years with UIU after transferring from the University of Northern Iowa, he has recorded 153 tackles and snagged 6 interceptions.
