NORTH ENGLISH (KWWL) -- The Iowa County Sheriff's Office says they arrested four 19-year olds on Wednesday in connection with the vandalism at the Knoll Ridge Golf Course on Sunday.

Cody Gent of Cedar Rapids, Kyle Osweiler of Lone Jack, Missouri, Clayton Voss of North English and Drew Buckley of Williamsburg are all charged with Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree.

Each faces up to five years in prison and a fine between $750 and $7,500.

The sheriff's office says that around 5:30 Sunday morning it was found that someone entered sheds and took golf carts, and then used the carts in vandalizing most of the greens before dumping the carts in ponds around the course.

A black and red "Famous" brand flexfit ball cap and a FOX brand backpack were left behind and deputies believed they were left behind by the vandals.  Pictures of the hat and backpack were put out to the public in hopes of identifying who the belonged to.

Police say a tip generated from a news story played a role in the success of this investigation.
