Movie theaters open for special needs children

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -- Two eastern Iowa movie theaters are offering "Reel Movies for Real Needs", a film series designed for families of special-needs children with autism or other challenges who seldom attend the movies.  College Square Cinema in Cedar Falls and Sycamore Cinema in Iowa City announced its upcoming film titles in its series on the fourth Saturday of each month at 10:30 a.m.

Upcoming titles and dates are Saturday, June 26, Toy Story 3, Saturday, July 24, Ramona and Beezus, Saturday, August 21, Nanny McPhee Returns and Saturday, September 25, Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole.

The "Reel Movies for Real Needs" program creates a welcoming and comfortable environment for special needs children by offering family films with a lower sound volume and brighter lighting for families who may not feel comfortable attending regularly scheduled shows.
