Waterloo teen pleads guilty to crack and firearm charges

CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -- Tyrell Wells of Waterloo pleaded guilty to two charges Wednesday in federal court.

Nineteen-year-old Wells was convicted of one count of selling cocaine and one count of having a gun on him at the time of the sale.  He admitted that he sold about one ounce of cocaine in February 2009 while he had a 9mm handgun.

Wells is currently in custody of the U.S. Marshal service and is awaiting sentencing.  He will face a minimum sentence of 10 years in prison with a maximum of life as well as multiple fines.
