Fighting Saints to hold first tryout camp

DUBUQUE (KWWL) -- The Dubuque Fighting Saints, the newest addition to the United States Hockey League, will hold their first tryout camp next week.

The camp will be held June 14th through June 19th at the Five Flags Center in downtown Dubuque.

The Select Camp, which is open to all players ages 15 to 20, will be held from June 14th through June 16th.

Then, from June 17th through June 19th, they will hold their Main Camp, which is an invitation only camp.

Some players from the Select Camp may be invited to take part in the Main Camp.

Players in the Select Camp will be divided into eight teams and will play a series of games over the three days.

The Main Camp players will be broken up into four teams that will practice on Thursday in the morning and early afternoon and then play games on Thursday evening and Friday morning and evening.

On Saturday there will be a Bronze Medal Game at 10:00 a.m. and a Gold Medal Game at Noon.

The week ends with an All-Star Game featuring the best of the best on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.

Players from across the U.S., Canada and Europe are expected to take part in the camp.
