SUMNER (KWWL) -- A two-year old Sumner girl is recovering at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota following a lawnmower accident on Friday.

According to a Facebook prayer page, a problem with a riding lawnmower ended with Nevaeh having her hands caught in the blades.

Her father, Ricky Ray Howard, Jr., was able to get the mower off of his daughter and prevent any further injuries.

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office says they were called to the accident at about 1:00 Friday afternoon, but by the time they arrived, Nevaeh had already been taken to Sumner Hospital.

The Mayo Clinic says that the little girl is in serious condition.

A woman identifying herself as Nevaeh's mom, Christina Williams, wrote, "Ricky and I got to Nevaeh's room this morning and she looks like Nevaeh again.  The fluid is leaving her body and we are praying for another good day.  Thanks for all your prayers."

Donation cans are being placed around the area to help the family with expenses.
