Deere invests $100 million in Waterloo foundry

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- Waterloo's largest employer says it's investing about $100 million to modernize one of its facilities.

Deere and Company announced Wednesday it will update its foundry in Waterloo.

The company says it will take place over the next four to five years.

It says it will allow the company to improve manufacturing capacity and flexibility of its large row crop and four wheel drive tractors made at the plant.

The Iowa Department of Economic Development is providing tax incentives to Deere to keep those foundry jobs in Iowa.
