Broadcaster and charity volunteer Melody Judge to leave Mix 96

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) – After 6 and a half years of waking a large portion of the Cedar Valley on her morning show, broadcaster Melody Judge announced her resignation from Mix 96 KCVM Radio on Wednesday.

Judge won an open competition held by Mix 96 to find a co-host for its morning show. Against strong competition she was hired based on public voting.

Several charitable organizations asked her to serve on their Board of Directors. The most recognizable charity Judge was involved with was the Magical Mix Kids. Her involvement in the last 6 years, helped make it possible for many terminally and chronically ill children to participate in its annual fantasy trip to Walt Disney World.

"I'm going to stay involved in the community and will never forget the generosity of the Cedar Valley when someone was in need," Judge said in a released statement. "Many people have important challenges or serious life changes going on in their lives and a new day can seem daunting at times, my goal was to begin their day on a bright note and to bring a smile or maybe a good laugh into their morning, we all need that once in a while. I am going to miss that part of the job very much."

Judge says she is not planning on leaving the Cedar Valley any time soon and will remain on the board of the Magical Mix Kids.
